Idevax was awarded the prestigious Prix Galien in the category of the “most innovative medical device” on Thursday, March 14th. The awards ceremony took place at the Medtech Meetup 2024 in Brussels.
The Prix Galien recognized Idevax's groundbreaking work in the medical field. Their intradermal injection device, VAX-ID, developed in collaboration with Voxdale and later Novosanis, has been in development for over 13 years. VAX-ID boasts a needle that penetrates less than a millimeter into the skin, ensuring painless delivery of vaccines and immunizations. Notably, VAX-ID requires up to ten times less active substance for efficient vaccination, leading to significant vaccine savings ranging from 80 to 90%.
Congratulations to Koen Byers and Vanessa Vankerckhoven for this well-deserved recognition of their innovative contributions to the medical field.
